Listeria-tainted cheeses: what went wrong in the monitoring system?

Twenty-one instances of listeriosis have been identified, resulting in two deaths, according to official announcements. Last June, a plant in Creuse was linked to the outbreak and initiated the withdrawal of possibly contaminated goods.
