Agency imposes restrictions: Water bodies deemed hazardous now off-limits for purchases
In recent updates, the Republican Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health in Belarus has provided a list of prohibited swimming spots across the country. Here's a breakdown of the current swimming restrictions for various locations:
- Swimming for children is prohibited at the pond near the agrotown of Lutskovlyany.
- Similarly, children are not allowed to swim at Lake Rogozhanskoe (Brestye village), Lake Mednyanskoe (Medno village), Lake Beloye (Beloye Ozery village and railway base), and Lake Gusinoe (agrotown of Kadino).
- On the Sozh River, restrictions on swimming and water sports have been lifted at beach No3 in the agrotown of Litvinovichi, but swimming for children remains prohibited at the "Western" beach in Gomel and the "Vostok" beach on the Muhavets River (Brest).
- Swimming has been suspended at the "Western" beach on the Sozh River in Gomel, but water sports are still allowed. The "Obkomovsky" beach in Gomel is completely prohibited for swimming.
- At the central beach and the beach in the "Lososna" recreation area (Grodno, Nemana River), swimming is prohibited.
- In Mogilev, swimming is prohibited on the Dnieper and Pechersk reservoir.
- Swimming is prohibited on the Dnieper (near the Center of Olympic Reserve) in Zhlobin, as well as at the beach on the Dnieper (Zhlobin, "Pridneprovsky" park).
- Right-bank recreation areas in Mozyr (near the rowing base and residential building No. 9 on Sovetskaya Street) are also prohibited for swimming.
- Swimming is prohibited at the beach on the Dnieper (in the agrotown of Polovchytsy).
An interactive map of all zones with limitations and prohibitions has been compiled for navigation. You can find the map here.
It's important to note that the center took 593 water samples for testing, and in 20 cases, they found that the water did not meet hygienic standards for microbiological indicators.
For the most current or detailed local advisories, consulting Belarusian official government health or environmental websites directly would be recommended. As of the latest available information up to August 2025, there is no publicly reported swimming restriction in Belarus from the official Republican Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health.
In light of the recent findings, it's crucial to prioritize health-and-wellness and make informed decisions regarding nutrition, as the Republican Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Public Health in Belarus found that the water quality at 20 locations did not meet hygienic standards. To prevent potential health issues, individuals may want to consider alternatives to swimming in these affected areas, such as exploring the science behind improving water quality and adopting a nutritious diet to boost immune system function.
