Autobahn 3 in Frankfurt experiences temporary shutdown due to a traffic accident

In an unfortunate turn of events, a traffic accident occurred on the A3 motorway near Frankfurt last night. The incident involved five vehicles, causing a temporary closure of the motorway due to debris and non-roadworthy vehicles.

According to the Polizeidirektion Frankfurt am Main, the accident occurred around 22:15. The accident sequence began when a 20-year-old driver of a Corvette, traveling at high speed, lost control and hit the right guardrail. After rebounding, the Corvette spun back onto the road and hit the rear of a VW.

Fortunately, the two drivers involved in the collision, a 20-year-old and a 50-year-old, only suffered slight injuries. Three other vehicles were also damaged by debris from the accident. A nearby bridge was slightly damaged as well.

Upon learning of the incident, experts were called to inspect the bridge to ensure its integrity. The bridge was found to be safe, and no danger to its structure was identified. The motorway was temporarily closed, but one lane was reopened a few minutes later.
