Belarus Flu-Free So Far, Braces for Late January Peak

Belarus remains free from influenza cases so far, with the current level of acute respiratory infections deemed normal. However, health officials anticipate an increase in upper respiratory infections later in the season, with the peak expected in late January to February.

As of now, respiratory viruses circulating in Belarus include adenoviruses, respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, and SARS-CoV-2. The number of acute respiratory infections has risen since early September. Three flu vaccines are available in medical institutions across the country for the current epidemic season.

Currently, the vaccine 'Influvac Tetra' is offered in hospitals for both free and paid immunization. Another vaccine for paid immunization is expected to arrive soon.

While no specific viruses are reported to be currently spreading in Belarus, health officials are prepared for an expected increase in upper respiratory infections later in the season. Vaccines are available, and the situation is being monitored closely.
