Belarus Sees Surge in Medical Imaging Procedures in 2024
In 2024, Belarus witnessed a significant rise in medical imaging procedures, with approximately 284,000 citizens undergoing MRI scans. The country is equipped with 176 computer tomographs and 68 magnetic resonance tomographs, catering to a substantial number of referrals, nearly 904,000 for CT scans alone.
The most frequent CT scans were of the head, chest, and abdomen, while MRI scans primarily focused on the spine, head, and neck. These figures underscore the significance of medical imaging in Belarusian healthcare.
A survey involving over 1,200 residents shed light on expenditure patterns. On average, Belarusians spent around Br70 monthly on drugs, with optimal expenditure ranging from Br30 to Br300. They also allocated Br45 on average for wellness services, and between Br100-170 for medical services overall.
These statistics offer insights into the demand for and cost of healthcare services in Belarus. The high number of MRI and CT scans indicates a strong medical imaging infrastructure, while expenditure figures show a balanced approach to drug, wellness, and medical service costs.
