Child Operates Lemonade Stand for Support of Mental Health Aid Initiatives Today
Riverview Wellness, located on Main Street, Delaware County, is hosting a unique event today. Across from the Delaware County Public Health, the parking lot of Riverview Wellness will be bustling with activity as a lemonade stand takes centre stage.
The kid-run lemonade stand event is a fundraiser for Mental Health programs in Delaware County Schools. Originally scheduled from 10 AM to 1 PM, the event has been moved to Noon until 3 PM due to unforeseen circumstances.
Amy Whitman of Riverview Wellness shared the story behind the lemonade stand. She explained that the idea was conceived as a way to engage the community and support a cause close to their hearts - mental health awareness among young students.
Kamrie Nefzger, involved with the event, is helping to organise and explain the lemonade stand. She said, "We wanted to create a fun and interactive way for children to learn about the importance of mental health and raise funds for programs that can make a real difference in their schools."
The event is accepting donations on a freewill basis. Dane Drees, another member of the Riverview Wellness team, discussed what is being offered at the event. "In addition to refreshing lemonade, we will have some light snacks and information about mental health resources available in the community," he said.
So, if you're in Delaware County today, swing by Riverview Wellness' parking lot to support a great cause and enjoy a cool lemonade. Your donation will help make a positive impact on the mental health programmes in Delaware County Schools.
