Commission Proposes Safeguards for Workers Against Radiation Exposure Risks
In an incident that occurred on September 1, 2020, a truck from an out-of-area transport company was fined for disregarding the truck ban on Federal Road 45 in Bad König, Germany.
The bridge on this road is closed to trucks over 3.5 tons, except for loading and unloading vehicles. However, the truck in question disregarded this ban, leading to the incident at the State Police Headquarters South Hesse.
The truck was carrying cargo in domestic traffic, known as cabotage, which is permitted under certain conditions for out-of-area transport companies. Despite this, the transport company did not comply with the requirement to provide evidence for the sender's directive for transport companies.
As a result, the police prohibited further travel for the truck and required it to be equipped with a compliant tachograph, the latest generation of which is required for vehicles from out-of-area companies. The driver was fined 130 euros and will receive a point in Flensburg.
A security deposit of 2500 euros was ordered for the potential fine procedure. The cargo on the truck had to be unloaded.
