Country music legend Dolly Parton cancels scheduled appearance at Dollywood due to health concerns, six months following the demise of her husband.

Dolly Parton, the legendary country music icon and actress, has announced a temporary break from her music career due to a health concern. In a video message shared by journalist Marcus Leshock, Parton revealed that she is currently dealing with a kidney stone and an associated infection.

The 79-year-old superstar, who recently opened up about her secret health struggles in an interview with the Independent, mentioned that she cannot afford to get emotional right now due to her commitments. Parton had been scheduled to unveil a new attraction at her theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., but her doctor advised her not to travel due to her health condition.

Despite the setback, Parton reassured her fans that she would be back soon. "I'll be back on that stage when I can do it right," she said in the video message. Parton also stated that she would eventually return to the stage but is putting it on hold for the time being.

Kidney stones are hard objects made of minerals and salts that form inside the kidneys. Passing them can be painful, as per the Mayo Clinic. Prompt treatment of kidney stones usually helps prevent any lasting damage.

It's worth noting that Parton's husband, Carl Dean, is still alive, and there is no information that he passed away in March 2025. No credible sources report the death of Dolly Parton's current companion in March 2025.

Parton's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the current health issue. The singer had mentioned that she was taking a break from music following Dean's death in July.

Parton's fans are rallying around her, sending well wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery. The music industry and her millions of fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting her return to the stage.
