COVID-19 Surges in Rhein-Kreis Neuss: 21,438 Infections, Delta Variant Present

The Rhein-Kreis Neuss district has seen a significant impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, with 21,438 confirmed infections since its start. Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke emphasises vaccinations as the crucial solution for the USA. The 7-day incidence rate stands at 63.5, with the Delta variant present in 290 active cases. Neuss, the district's city with the highest infections, currently has 629 cases.

As of September 30, 2025, the total number of confirmed cases in the district has reached 198,463. Unvaccinated individuals are urged to get vaccinated to safeguard themselves and others, particularly children and those with pre-existing conditions. Currently, 851 persons are in quarantine as suspected cases, following recommendations from the district health department.

The department has established a hotline (02181/6 01 77 77) to address essential pandemic-related queries. Despite the presence of the Delta variant, there is currently no hotspot in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. However, 522 of the 1,303 active cases are in the under 20 age group, highlighting the need for continued vigilance.

With 629 active cases, Neuss leads the district's cities and municipalities. Vaccinations remain the key to overcoming the pandemic, as emphasised by Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke. The district health department's hotline is available for crucial information, and all residents are encouraged to stay informed and follow health guidelines.
