Elderly Resident of Rastede Sustains Injuries After Being Hit by Falling Tree Limb - Police Station Announcement, Rastede
In Oldenburg, Germany, an 84-year-old woman using a rollator sustained head injuries after a large branch, around 70cm thick, fell from a maple tree on Raiffeisenstraße on Monday morning at approximately 10:30 AM.
The incident occurred near the railway crossing, and the woman was initially treated at the scene before being taken to Ammerland Clinic for further treatment. Fortunately, her life was not immediately in danger following the incident.
Passersby quickly responded, providing immediate first aid and alerting emergency services. The volunteer fire department of Rastede was deployed to remove the fallen branch, and Raiffeisenstraße was fully closed for approximately 1.5 hours due to the incident.
