Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg Wins 'Healthy School' Award for Health Initiatives

The 'Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis' program, supported by Kreis-Gesundheitsamt for nine years, has awarded schools for their commitment to health promotion and prevention. Monika Heinis of Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg received the 'Healthy School in the Wittekindskreis' award on 09.10.2025, recognised for her school's dedication to health initiatives.

The program offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff, along with an overview of local health advice contact points. Awardee schools implemented at least three health-promoting measures and one measure for teaching staff's health during the project period. Interested schools can find information about the 'Healthy Schools' program at the business office of the Gesundheitskonferenz or with project leader Renata Lleshi.

Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg carried out activities like eating disorder prevention, relaxation, first aid, and healthy international cuisine with external experts' support. Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist, led exercises improving students' coordination, concentration, learning ability, and motivation. Teaching staff at the awardee school had a health day covering nutritional counseling, resilience, ergonomics, and individual diagnostics.

Several schools received the 'Healthy School' award this year, including Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg, Grundschulen in Westerenger and Löhne-Obernbeck, and Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule. The program continues to support schools in promoting health and well-being among students and staff.
