New Medical Director Takes Over Central Emergency Department at Knappschaft Clinics Bottrop

As of July 1, 2025, Daniela Diesing has stepped into the role of Medical Director for the Central Emergency Department at Knappschaft Clinics Bottrop. Mrs. Diesing returned to the clinic in 2019 as a specialist and senior physician for surgery.

Before her appointment, Wolfgang Dierschke held the position of Medical Director.

Mrs. Diesing brings her extensive experience in various clinics in the fields of anesthesiology, spine surgery, and neurosurgery to her new role. She completed her surgical specialist training at Bottrop's Knappschaft Clinics in 2012.

Since her return to Knappschaft Clinics Bottrop, Mrs. Diesing has been actively involved in the Central Emergency Department. Her goal is to promote more interdisciplinary collaboration in the emergency department, and she expresses satisfaction with the addition of neurosurgery as another specialty.

CEO Stefan Grave highly values Daniela Diesing and is glad she has taken on the responsibility of leading and advancing the Central Emergency Department. The management is delighted to have gained a dedicated employee like Daniela Diesing for the responsible position of Medical Director.

Extensive renovation work is currently underway in the Central Emergency Department. The renovation process has created ten new treatment rooms, one triage room, and two shock rooms. The reception and waiting area is planned for renovation in the long term.

As the new Medical Director, Daniela Diesing now oversees the organizational structure of the internal departments in addition to emergencies within her specialty. Her goal is to consider patients more holistically and combine the expertise of different departments.

Daniela Diesing served as deputy medical director for three years before being appointed as the new Medical Director. CEO Grave is confident that under her leadership, the Central Emergency Department will continue to provide high-quality care to its patients.
