Expanding Hydration Access: Tetra Pak's Distribution Drive of Ready-To-Drink ORS Celebrates World ORS Day

City-Wide Ready-To-Drink Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) Distribution Drive

The TSL Foundation, in collaboration with corporate partners Tetra Pak, Halewood, Kenvue, and Alkem, has launched an initiative to combat dehydration-related health risks. This month-long drive aims to provide an easily accessible, simple, and affordable life-saving solution, particularly for vulnerable populations[1].

Empowering Communities

The TSL Foundation's initiative reaches out to diverse communities through a 360-degree outreach effort. The goal is to educate and empower consumers with practical knowledge about everyday hydration, emphasizing that staying well-hydrated should be easy, safe, and part of everyday life[2].

Partnering for Health

This collaboration exemplifies a multi-sector effort. Tetra Pak, with its product expertise in packaging, partners with the Foundation to ensure the ORS packs are readily available. Trusted brands such as Halewood (ElectroRush), Kenvue (ORSL), and Alkem (ORS Insta) have developed these packs, contributing to the shared goal of making hydration simple, safe, and inclusive[3].

Outreach Efforts

The outreach includes on-ground distribution drives, informative radio segments, and engaging social media content. These efforts aim to increase public knowledge about ORS usage as a first-line treatment for dehydration and ensure convenient access to ORS in a ready-to-consume form, improving compliance and timely administration[1].

Empowering Health Equity

The TSL Foundation believes that health equity begins with access. By providing easy access to life-saving solutions like ORS, the initiative hopes to reduce morbidity and mortality related to dehydration in children and other at-risk groups[4].

A City-Wide Effort

The city-wide drive culminates on World ORS Day, July 29. This initiative aligns with global health recommendations on ORS use and has important implications for public health awareness and disease prevention[1]. The focus remains on accessibility and awareness, making sure people understand the value of ORS in maintaining health, especially during vulnerable seasons.

  1. To further support the city-wide drive, events will be organized to educate the public about the importance of science, especially in the field of health-and-wellness, emphasizing the role of proper hydration for overall health, which can be achieved through nutrition and the use of solutions like ORS.
  2. In addition to the distribution drive, the TSL Foundation, in partnership with science-oriented brands, will also provide resources and materials, such as educational brochures and infographics, highlighting the links between science, health, nutrition, and hydration, to promote a holistic approach to health and wellness in diverse communities.
