Four dental facilities in Cebu receive a total of nine state-of-the-art dental chairs.

The Provincial Government of Cebu has taken a significant step forward in improving its healthcare services, as four hospitals in the region have received new dental chairs equipped with X-ray units. This development is part of the first round of purchases made by the Capitol, totalling nine dental chairs.

These new dental chairs are set to replace outdated and broken units, marking a significant upgrade in dental care facilities for the hospitals. Nikki Catalan, health program consultant for the Capitol, expressed her satisfaction with the progress in an interview on September 19, 2025, but noted the slow pace of government procurement.

The Capitol's investments do not stop at dental care. The purchases made this year, funded by a P650 million budget approved by Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, also include other medical equipment. The deliveries represent about 10 percent of the Capitol's ongoing healthcare interventions.

Among the equipment delivered are portable suction machines, ECG machines, blood bank refrigerators, digital X-ray machines, and portable nebulizers. The next phase of the provincial health program will see the purchase of anesthesia machines and defibrillators, equipment that the Department of Health's regulatory and licensing division has identified as addressing deficiencies in the hospitals.

However, the specific recipients of donations for further medical devices in the next phase of the provincial health program have not been disclosed in the search results. The hospitals that have received the new dental chairs are located in Argao, Barili, Minglanilla (south), and Tuburan (midwest).

This initiative by the Cebu Provincial Government is a testament to its commitment to enhancing healthcare services and improving the quality of life for its citizens.
