Intense Conflict Intensifies - Stabbing Victim Critical in Intensive Care Unit

Last night, a dispute took place in the Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood on Schönhauser Allee. The incident, which involved several intoxicated individuals, has led to charges being brought against two men.

At around 6:30 PM, employees of the public order office alerted the police about the dispute. Upon arrival, officers found a 53-year-old man lying on the ground with a stab wound on his chest. He was immediately provided with medical treatment at the scene by emergency services before being transported to a hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit.

A knife with bloodstains was found at the scene and seized by officers. The investigation into the incident is being handled by a specialist commission of the Police Directorate 1 (North).

The 53-year-old man's opponent, a 38-year-old man, was found to have a knife and a box cutter. He sustained skin abrasions on his arm and a facial laceration during the dispute. A breathalyzer test on the 38-year-old showed a reading of approximately 3.5 promille.

The 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to a police lockup for identification procedures and a blood sample was taken at the request of the public prosecutor's office. He will have to answer to charges of suspected dangerous bodily harm. His opponent, on the other hand, was accused of simple bodily harm.

The name of the 38-year-old who was arrested and is the suspected perpetrator of the minor bodily injury charge has not been disclosed in the available information.

Emergency services also provided medical treatment at the scene for the 38-year-old man. The current condition of both men is not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
