Israelis Celebrate the Gaza Bloodbath, Viewing Genocide as Utopian Ideal rather than Criminal Act
In a shocking revelation, a report by journalist Chris Hedges on Substack.com has highlighted a dire humanitarian and human rights crisis in Gaza. The situation in Gaza is characterised by widespread starvation and gross violations against Palestinians, with Israel's militarised blockade and aid distribution system identified as key drivers of this catastrophe.
Israel's military blockade has resulted in a heavily militarised and restricted aid delivery system operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a body backed by both Israel and the United States. This system severely limits the availability of food and medical aid, forcing Palestinians to risk their lives trying to access inadequate aid at a few distribution sites under constant Israeli military threat. Hundreds of Palestinians, including children and medical personnel, have been killed or wounded near these aid sites.
The humanitarian conditions in Gaza are catastrophic. Acute malnutrition and starvation deaths are rampant, with over 100 deaths from malnutrition recently recorded by Gaza’s Ministry of Health, many of whom are children. The blockade and military attacks have decimated Gaza’s infrastructure, making access to safe water, medical facilities, and food extremely limited.
Human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, classify these actions as war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide. The United Nations and other bodies have also condemned these acts and called for the immediate lifting of the blockade and militarised restrictions, along with the cessation of lethal force against Palestinians seeking humanitarian aid.
The Israeli government's stance towards these atrocities is alarming. Leaders such as Gila Gamliel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Bezalel Smotrich envision an ethno-nationalist Jewish state where Palestinians do not exist. Amichai Eliyahu, the Israeli Minister of Heritage, declared that "All Gaza will be Jewish." Gamliel also uploaded an AI-generated video of a future Gaza devoid of Palestinians, showing cafes, hotels, and luxury yachts.
The violence against Palestinians in Gaza is not just limited to starvation and military attacks. Saifullah Musallet, a 20-year-old Palestinian-American, was lynched by rogue Israeli militias equipped with automatic weapons provided by the Israeli government. Over 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers and U.S. mercenaries in the chaos of getting food packages.
The destruction of water purification plants, hospitals, and clinics in Gaza has left doctors and medical staff weak from malnutrition. The wasteland of Gaza, pulverised by bombs and torn down by bulldozers and excavators, has left virtually the entire population homeless.
The genocide in Gaza signals the abolition of the rule of law and the obliteration of even the pretense of an ethical code for Israelis. The Israeli government does not view the starvation of Palestinian children, the gunning down of families at food hubs, or the bombing and shelling of Palestinian civilians as war crimes or extraordinary events.
This crisis in Gaza is a stark reminder of the urgent need for international intervention to protect the human rights of Palestinians and to bring an end to the ongoing violence and suffering.
