Landrat Urges Unvaccinated in Rhein-Kreis Neuss to Get Vaccinated as Delta Variant Spreads

Landrat Hans-Jürgen Petrauschke urges unvaccinated individuals in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss to get vaccinated, as the district's 7-day incidence stands at 63.5 with 21,438 confirmed infections since the pandemic's start. The Delta variant has been found in 290 active cases.

Petrauschke advises continued adherence to distancing, masking, and regular testing to help stop infection chains early. A total of 851 people are currently in quarantine on the health department's recommendation. Notably, 522 of the 1,303 active cases are in the under 20 age group, with Neuss accounting for the majority of infections at 629. The district health department has set up a hotline for queries, operating from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, and weekends, 10 am to 2 pm.

The sequencing of positive corona tests in Neuss, Grevenbroich, and mobile testing units was conducted from December 2021 to March 2022. Other cities in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss with active cases include Grevenbroich (189), Dormagen (170), Meerbusch (111), Kaarst (112), Korschenbroich (37), Jüchen (44), and Rommerskirchen (11).

Petrauschke encourages everyone to make a vaccination appointment at their family doctor, the vaccination center, or through mobile vaccination offers. The district's health department remains committed to providing support and information through their hotline.
