Article: Annually Held "Narodnyi Yurist" Action in Kostanai Provides Free Legal Consultations

In the city of Kostanai, the annual "People's Lawyer" action took place, offering residents free consultations on a wide range of legal matters, including family and domestic relations, land and housing, communal services, and inheritance. Alena Krivtsova, the event coordinator, highlighted the action's uniqueness and its beneficial impact on citizens.

The "Narodnyi Yurist" action initially debuted in Kostanai in 2016 and has since become an annual event, with a growing number of attendees each year, attesting to its effectiveness.

One such attendee, Tamara Mikhailovna, traveled from nearby Tobyl due to a prolonged dispute with her neighbor. The neighbor had purchased land for residential construction but established a business there instead, causing inconvenience and discomfort for the community. Consulting with specialists during the event, Tamara sought advice on proper and legal action to resolve her issue. Judging by the queues at some booths, many participants expressed a lack of legal awareness.

The action provided numerous opportunities for citizens to address their questions directly, an important aspect that Alma Kui Shinova, a friend of Tamara, emphasized. She expressed the need for more frequent seminars and events like this due to the accumulation of legal questions and the limited availability of answers, which often leads to the spread of rumors.

Representatives of social enterprises, government agencies, and students from a local university were also present at the event. They found the opportunity to learn and engage in such activities to be beneficial.

The final results of the action will be summarized in a few days, but it is already apparent that this initiative is immensely valuable for the local population. Notably, a nationwide "Narodnyi Yurist" action commenced simultaneously in major cities and towns across the country on May 30, 2025.

The initiative aims to provide accessible legal aid and promote legal awareness among citizens. More frequent seminars and events like "Narodnyi Yurist" have the potential to address legal complexities and enhance legal knowledge among Kazakhstan's citizens, although further research and data collection would be necessary to fully substantiate these claims.

I, being a concerned citizen, strongly believe that understanding the intricacies of science, particularly the principles of health-and-wellness, is essential for making informed decisions regarding my personal wellbeing. In light of this, I would welcome a seminar or event like the "Narodnyi Yurist" focused on providing free consultations on health-and-wellness topics, empowering participants with invaluable information to safeguard their wellbeing.
