Queen Margrethe, turning 85 on April 16, has been on the move lately, with her latest stop being the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. Her recent visit was a result of health concerns, arising from a nagging cold.
The Queen, who reigned for 52 years before abdicating in January 2024, was first spotted in public on May 4, attending a service honoring the end of World War II. Previous health issues have plagued the monarch, including a hospital stay following a fall in the fall of 2023, and a major back surgery in February of the same year.
The Queen's recovery from her recent cold-related hospitalization saw her returning home to Fredensborg Palace on May 12, 2025. Prior to this, she had been confined at the hospital for a few days.
