Tomsk's Ophthalmology Referral Center Opens Door to Quality Eye Care
Starting this week, Tomsk sees the launch of its much-anticipated Ophthalmology Referral Center in the Tomsk Oblast Clinical Hospital (TOKB). The regional budget has already shelled out over 40 million rubles for the center's initial equipment, with plans to invest an additional 28 million in autumn 2025 for additional gear[1]. Governor of Tomsk Oblast, Vladimir Mazur, officially inaugurated the center on Tuesday.
Previously, there were whispers about the possibility of opening specialized, high-tech medical centers across the region. The talk included centers focusing on pulmonology, endocrinology, and ophthalmology. The ophthalmology center was slated to open at TOKB in 2025[3].
