The affected product has the best before date of 28.03.2026. Consumers who purchased this product are asked not to consume it and are encouraged to return it for a full refund, even without a receipt.
ALDI Nord has immediately removed the affected goods from sale and they were supplied to the regional companies Herten, Hesel, Lingen, Hann. Münden, Seefeld, and Weyhe of ALDI Nord.
Die Frischebox GmbH, the company responsible for the recall, has stated that other best before dates or varieties of the "SOFT FRUITS, 250G, Variety: Figs" Trader Joe's product are not affected by this recall.
Ochratoxin A is a toxin produced by certain molds, which can pose health risks including kidney damage and potentially carcinogenic effects if consumed in significant amounts. To prevent consumer exposure to the toxin, Die Frischebox GmbH has issued the recall.
