Need for a Blood Donor Identified
The German Red Cross Blood Donation Service is set to establish a temporary blood donation center at City Galerie shopping center in Siegen, aiming to increase accessibility and visibility for its lifesaving services.
The move to a high-traffic location like City Galerie is expected to attract a broader audience and raise awareness about blood donation opportunities. The center, which will open on Friday, will operate from weekdays 1 PM to 6 PM, and on Saturdays from 10 AM to 3 PM.
While the Blood Donation Service felt very comfortable at St. Marien Hospital and had an excellent collaboration, the new pop-up center is not a replacement for the center at the hospital. Instead, it is an additional location aimed at making blood donation more convenient for donors.
Stephan David Küpper, spokesperson for the Blood Donation Service, emphasized that the move to City Galerie is not a decision against St. Marien Hospital. He stated, "Our commitment to St. Marien Hospital remains unwavering, and we will continue to operate at the hospital in addition to the pop-up center at City Galerie."
The Blood Donation Service has had successful pop-up centers in Düsseldorf, Dortmund, and Bochum, and hopes to attract many donors at the City Galerie shopping center.
