October 16th - Volunteer Workforce Training
In a groundbreaking move, a new training programme for volunteers who wish to support individuals in need of care (care level 1) at home has been announced. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Specialist Centre for Dementia and Care in Lower Bavaria and the Market Ergolding.
The training, which is set to take place from October 15 to November 19, 2025, is primarily aimed at citizens with a residence in the Landshut district. To participate, one must be at least 16 years old, not be related to the person in need of care up to the 2nd degree, or live in the same household.
The training, which is free of charge, will take place at the Ahornhof Ergolding (Community Room), Bargrabenstraße 8, 84030 Ergolding. The head of the registration process for the free training is Frau Steffi Salomon. Interested parties can register with Elisabeth Strasser, the Senior Commissioner of the Landshut district, by Thursday, 02.10.2025. As of January 1, 2021, private individuals can volunteer to provide support in the Landshut district. The tasks for volunteers include accompanying to doctor's appointments, supporting with cooking, shopping, and household chores, and helping to organize daily care.
Participants in the training will also be eligible to receive a reimbursement of up to 131 euros per month, in addition to the relief allowance from the care insurance. It is recommended that volunteers have a private liability and accident insurance.
