OKMRC Offers Crucial Sleep Management Trainings for Volunteers
Oklahoma Medical Reserve Corps (OKMRC) is hosting two crucial trainings this November and December. The sessions, led by Dr. Rick Cohen, focus on managing sleep deprivation and fatigue, crucial skills for local volunteering and first responders in disaster-prone Oklahoma.
The trainings, 'Sleep Deprivation, Fatigue, Exercise/Response Nutrition & Fitness for Duty', will equip attendees with strategies to navigate rest, exercise, and nutrition. This knowledge enhances performance and safety, benefiting both volunteers and the communities they serve.
OKMRC is seeking committed volunteers to assist during emergencies. The trainings qualify for two continuous education hours, making them an attractive opportunity for medical, nursing, and healthcare professionals. Interested individuals can visit OKMRC.org for volunteering information and additional trainings.
The trainings will be held on November 29 (1:30 - 3:30 p.m.) and December 4 (6:00 - 8:00 p.m.) at the James O. Goodwin Health Center. Online registration is available at the provided link. By attending, volunteers can better prepare themselves for Oklahoma's frequent disasters and ensure they are 'Fit for Duty'.
