On July 26, 2025, Egan McCormick finally succumbed to his protracted struggle
Egan McCormick, a beloved figure in Los Alamos, passed away on July 26, 2025, after a long battle with COPD. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, McCormick moved to Los Alamos at just three months old, laying the foundation for a life deeply rooted in the community.
McCormick was a dedicated family man, leaving behind his wife Jacquie, four children—Tyler, Lacey, Chelsea, and Micaela (John)—and two grandchildren, Logan and Abel. He also leaves behind his brother Zachary, Nephew Chris (Joy), and grandniece Ellie.
In his youth, McCormick attended Los Alamos High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor's in Economics from the University of New Mexico. Later in life, he furthered his education by earning an MBA from UNM-LA, all while working full time at LANL and raising his family.
McCormick's leadership qualities were evident throughout his life. He served as the president of the JROTC and the Golf Course Pool Association, demonstrating his commitment to community service. His dedication extended to coaching soccer and helping his children with their newspaper routes when they all had paper routes.
During his battle with COPD, McCormick found solace in the care provided by MANNM and LAMC, as well as the employees at Pulmonary Rehab. His resilience and grace in the face of adversity were an inspiration to many.
