Prof. Dominik Modest to Lead Cancer Therapy Advances at Charité CCCC & NCT Berlin
Prof. Dominik Modest is set to take on a significant role at the Charité Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCCC) and the National Center for Tumor Diseases Berlin (NCT Berlin). From October 1, 2025, he will lead more therapy studies, advance treatment options, and expand the offerings of the NCT Berlin.
Prof. Modest, who will also become the new professor for comprehensive oncology at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, aims to improve cancer patient care. He plans to lead more therapy studies at the CCCC, focusing on new approaches and therapeutics for patients with unresponsive tumors or rare variants.
The CCCC, Germany's largest cancer center, offers a wide range of treatments. More than 200 experienced oncologists develop over 20,000 individual treatment plans annually for over 14,000 patients. These plans can include surgical techniques, state-of-the-art radiation therapy, systemic and immunotherapeutic procedures, and cell therapies. Prof. Modest's goal is to make these advanced treatment options quickly and easily accessible to everyone.
The NCT Berlin, which expands the offerings of the CCCC, will soon gain additional space in a newly renovated building on the Virchow Clinic campus. This expansion will further enhance the center's capabilities to provide optimal cancer care.
With Prof. Modest's appointment, the CCCC and NCT Berlin look forward to advancing cancer treatment. His leadership in therapy studies and commitment to making the best care available to patients as soon as possible after diagnosis promise to improve outcomes for many cancer patients.
