Recommendation sought for a legislative measure to safeguard employees from the hazards associated with ionising radiation encounters.

Recommendation for a radiation safety directive for workers' risk mitigation is requested by the Commission.

Steffen Bilger, a member of the CDU federal executive board and First Parliamentary Managing Director of the Union faction in the Bundestag, has raised concerns about the Eurovision Song Contest due to discussions of boycotting the event if Israel is involved.

In an interview on RTL/ntv 'Early Start', Bilger questioned Germany's participation in the contest if Israel is excluded. He emphasized that the federal government addresses the suffering in Gaza, but he views threats to boycott Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest as an expression of growing anti-Semitism in Europe.

The Eurovision Song Contest is the subject of Bilger's concerns, with broadcasters from Ireland, the Netherlands, Slovenia, and Spain announcing plans to boycott the event if Israel participates. Participation in the contest is a decision of the respective partner broadcaster of the competition.

Bilger also referred to recent debates about cultural boycotts against Israel, where an orchestra was unable to perform because the conductor was Jewish. He expressed his worry over these developments, including boycotts of orchestras, cycling races, and singing competitions.

The European Broadcasting Union is seeking a compromise with Israel's critics regarding the Eurovision Song Contest. Bilger's comments come as Federal Chancellor Merz and Foreign Minister Wadephul, along with him, draw consequences from the situation in Gaza.

In Germany, the Southwest Broadcasting Corporation (SWR) organizes Germany's participation for the ARD in the Eurovision Song Contest. The future participation of Germany in the contest remains to be seen, as the situation unfolds.

Bilger views the potential boycotts as a concerning trend, highlighting the need for dialogue and understanding in resolving conflicts rather than isolation and boycotts.
