The German Gymnastics Federation (DTB) is bringing back the popular hashtag #BeActive for the 10th anniversary of the European Week of Sport. This initiative, co-financed by the European Union (EU) and supported by the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in Germany, aims to promote health and physical activity across Europe.

The campaign targets two central groups: organisers of events and participants, particularly those with little daily movement. To get involved, organisations and individuals can register their events or activities as official European Week of Sport activities, gaining visibility through the campaign’s platforms. They can also organise or participate in local or national sporting events, challenges, or physical activity sessions promoted by the DTB and partners.

To amplify reach and impact, the campaign encourages the use of campaign hashtags and materials on social media. The design of the campaign is oriented towards successful sports brands and uses surprising, humorous, and activating messages to encourage interaction. The DTB's revised campaign for this year was creatively developed by the Berlin agency DieckertJones, aiming to be more visible, modern, and relevant, both online and at events.

The European Week of Sport, started by the European Commission in 2015, takes place annually from 23 to 30 September. However, the DTB's campaign starts as early as 1 September. The DTB has been the national coordinator of the action week since 2016, and its extensive network of clubs, diverse movement offerings, and long-standing experience make it an ideal partner for implementing the EU-wide movement campaign.

The need to promote movement, sport, and an active lifestyle remains a central societal task. Millions of participants in all member states make the European Week of Sport one of the largest movement projects in the world. Institutions, clubs, schools, and companies can join the campaign by organising an action day, open training session, or low-threshold movement offer.

Physical inactivity remains a challenge, with more than half of European adults not being physically active enough. The new campaign aims to address this issue by providing comprehensive support and communication materials for organisers, making it easier for everyone to participate and make a positive change towards a healthier and more active lifestyle.

For more information and to register for the European Week of Sport, interested parties should look for official DTB announcements or visit the European Week of Sport website. The DTB's new campaign for the European Week of Sport will have a strong presence, encouraging everyone to #BeActive and embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle.
