On Sunday, September 21, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Marginal Avenue will be transformed into a bustling hub of sports, physical activities, and traditional games. This exciting event, called "Move on the Marginal," is a joint initiative by the municipalities of Cascais, Oeiras, and Lisbon.

The event aims to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles, offering a diverse range of activities for all ages. The sporting activities will stretch over more than 15 km, starting from Parede (Cascais) and ending at Alcântara (Lisbon) interchange. The Marginal Avenue will be temporarily closed to traffic during these hours to ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants.

The day promises to be filled with a variety of sports and physical activities. Along the route, you can expect to find group classes, physical training circuits, health screenings, inflatables, pedal vehicles, and traditional games. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or simply looking to get moving, there's something for everyone.

Activities during the event include walks, runs, bike rides, skateboarding or rollerblading, as well as activities along the riverside. For those seeking a more adventurous experience, there will be rock climbing, pilates, tennis, surfing, sailing, and orienteering.

The "Move on the Marginal" initiative is part of the Lisbon city council's efforts to encourage the practice of physical exercise and the adoption of healthy lifestyles. The announcement was made in a statement by the Lisbon Municipal Chamber.
