In the Grafschafter region, individuals facing personal crises or social distress now have access to a network of free social counseling centers. Located in Moers, Kamp-Lintfort, Rheinberg, Rheinhausen, Homberg, these centers can be contacted via the provided phone numbers.

The social counselor at the General Social Counseling, Nick Passau, a 50-year-old from Mannheim, assists individuals in navigating through difficult times. With a degree in political science and experience as a case manager for migrants in Duisburg-Hochfeld, Passau's approach is to first listen intently, provide relief, then analyze the overall situation, identify concrete actions, and work towards solutions collectively.

The counseling sessions cover a wide range of difficulties, including poverty, family issues, illness, job loss, separation, and other events. Sessions are confidential and can last as long as needed, from one session to several years. If necessary, they refer to specialized services such as debt counseling, housing assistance, and drug counseling at the Grafschafter Diakonie, or other facilities.

Anonymous counseling is available upon request at these centers. The social counseling provided by the Grafschafter Diakonie and the Moers church district is confidential, and appointments must be made in advance.

The specialists at these centers not only offer personal counseling but also practical support and help enforce social claims. The counseling centers are strategically located in different towns within the region to ensure easy access for all residents.

Nick Passau switched roles to work at the Grafschafter Diakonie in Rheinhausen in September 2024. He joins Iris Schwabe, further strengthening the team dedicated to helping those in need.

Whether you're facing a personal crisis or social distress, these free social counseling services are here to help. Reach out today and take the first step towards a brighter future.
